Here’s What I Learned About How to Scrap My Car for Cash

February 18, 2012

Some time ago, when my car became too old to be repaired, I thought “Should I scrap my car for cash?” Although I’ve never considered scrapping my car for cash before, I guess there’s always a first time for everything. However, there was just one little problem: I didn’t know anything about scrapping cars, nor did I know anyone who does.

Naturally, I did what any guy would do when he doesn’t have the information he needs: I went to the Internet and typed in “scrap my car” on Google. Most of the sites I visited told me that all I needed to do to sell my car was to give them its registration number. Also, some sites said that they will personally collect my car, while others said that I will have to drive it to their building myself.

And of course, I researched about how much I will be paid for my car. It turned out that these companies pay out money according to how much damage your car has suffered. In my case, I was selling my car because it was simply very old. However, because some of the parts could still be salvaged, I was promised a good deal.

After that brief period of research, I was able to gather all the information I needed to sell my car, and I’m glad to say that I got a good deal for it.

Radiators for Ford Mustang Repairs

January 25, 2012

HOLLYWOOD, CA - NOVEMBER 13: Singer/actress Alecia Beth Moore (R ...My nephew just bought a used car that needs repairs, so he is now looking for a Ford Mustang radiator. This car was made in 1995 and, in addition to loving it; he also wants to learn more about how to repair cars by doing the repair work himself. He has been interested in learning more about car repair and restoration ever since he took a shop class at school last year.

Unfortunately, he is at that stage where, when he deals with strangers, he tends to pretend to know more than he actually does, so I do not want him to go to an auto parts store by himself. Instead, I suggested that, before he buys a radiator, he should do some online research first because there are several online auto parts retailers that can offer details that he can digest in private without feeling the pressure of being a novice.

Source Cars for Raleigh Vehicle Donation

January 15, 2012

Colton Samuels was looking for someone to donate cars to the Raleigh vehicle donation center. He had taken up a job there after moving to Raleigh and was spreading the word around about Chariot for Charity, an organization that sent proceeds to help fund breast cancer patients. Colton loved his job, because he knew that what he was doing was helping many people. Colton was also extremely fascinated with cars of all kinds. His grandfather used to collect cars, so Colton’s father’s estate had a lot of old and wonderful cars in the huge garage. Due to this, Colton had an excellent understanding of cars and automobiles in general. He was good at fixing cars and knew exactly how to deal with minor vehicle problems. Due to his extensive knowledge of car repairing, the donation center found him invaluable to them. Colton loved his work and went every morning. On Fridays, he went around town talking to people about Chariot for Charity.

Faster and Faster Still

January 2, 2012

Retro Car Icons | Mercedes 190 E 2.5 Evolution 1 Mercedes have been involved in motor sport right from the Benz and Daimler days of the 1894 Paris-Rouen race, and the first car to race under that new Mercedes name was conceived as a sporting machine. It is no surprise therefore that the company has been very successful in every form of competition, from rallying to Grand Prix racing. The company worked to the formula: “The racing car of today is the touring car of tomorrow”. Mercedes took many records before 1939, the first with the then new Mercedes Benz 35 horsepower in 1901 at Nice, with a one mile speed of 79.7 km/h. The following year this went up to 83.2 km/h. After many more records the highest speed ever on a highway up to that time was established by Rudi Caracciola in 1939 on the autobahn at 432.4 km/h, to take Class B (5 to 8 litres) records for the flying mile and flying kilometre. In the stage between the two World Wars, victories were seen in the Targa Florio, German Grand Prix, Tourist Trophy, Grand Prix of Ireland, Argentine Grand Prix, Finnish Grand Prix and many sports car races. In these races the new slk sports car in racing trim, often with the legendary Caracciola at the wheel, was competing against Grand Prix cars. He was known as the Rainmaster, and his victories in the wet in such a big, heavy car have become historic feats. In the formula restricting weight to 750 kg, from 1934-7, Mercedes were supreme with the W25, giving 354 bhp from 3.36 litres. In following years it went up to 4.3 litres (462 bhp) and then 4.7 litres producing 494 bhp from its supercharged, straight eight engine. But in 1937 came the W125, which produced a massive 592 bhp from 5.66 litres at 5,800 rpm, in one of the most successful racing cars ever, and certainly the most powerful. It had four valves per cylinder operated by twin overhead camshafts, and a De Dion rear axle, which was little used in racing. It was capable of 200 mph and could spin its tyres on dry concrete at 150 mph. Few men could drive it to its capacity. One of them was Caracciola, and the duels between the Mercedes and the competing German Auto Union, which both eclipsed all others, were an awesome sight. In its ultimate form in 1937 the W125 with enclosed wheels in a streamlined shell, unlike the open wheeled W125, (both models had the same designation), put out 646 bhp from the same 5.66 litres and was capable of 330 km/h. But there was yet another monster to come, the new slk W154 for the new formula which limited engine size to three litres supercharged. For this, the designers produced an engine of half the old size, giving 480 bhp and 400 km/h, from 1938-40.

I Am Looking at Some Used Car Values for My Girlfriend

January 1, 2012

OLD CARSMy girlfriend wants a car, so I went online to search for used car values. She does not mind if it were a used car, as long as it is in a good condition. She added that she would not want it to look and sound like a junk car either, so I should make sure that I find one that is reliable. I told her that I would try my best to find a reliable used car, which is not hard to do considering that many car owners are selling their 8-month old cars these days. The economy is still not doing so good, thus many people are selling their cars to have extra cash to pay their amounting unpaid bills. I called my girlfriend to look at some of the used car values that I have looked at because I think it is important that she choose one that suits her taste and personality.

Maxi Cab Singapore – an Unforgettable Experience

December 22, 2011

A few weeks before my wedding, my girlfriend and I were planning to have a vacation in Singapore for our honeymoon. We were lucky to have a friend who knew about Maxi Cab. When I entered ‘Maxi Cab Singapore‘ on Google, I was overwhelmed with the kind of services they were offering. What I thought was a cab service was actually a limousine service! Call me ignorant, but you can’t blame me since I’ve never experienced riding in a limousine before.

Although the fees were not that cheap, I was sure that this would be worth it. Besides, this is going to be our first vacation after our wedding so we have to make the most out of it. After the intimate and unforgettable wedding, we arrived in Singapore after two days and we were fetched by the limousine driver. At first, we couldn’t really hear the driver calling out our names because we were flabbergasted by how our limo looked.

When we got inside the vehicle, it was like we didn’t want to step out since staying in the limousine was very cozy. We were very thankful to Maxi Cab for giving us a very memorable honeymoon and for providing us with some memories that me and my wife will cherish for the rest of our lives.

If you are like most of though, you are trying to install the piece yourself because it is the most economical solution which means that you will want to find the part at a great price. It can seem hopeless to find those perfect Acura parts when you really need them but if you are patient and willing to look, you can come across exactly what you are looking for at a great price.

Used Cars in Temecula CA

December 10, 2011

The best used cars in Temecula CA can usually be found if you know who the recommended car dealers are in the city. Word of mouth is probably one of the better ways that used car lots in Temecula get their reputations. You could also look online – check out Google maps, for example. They’ll often show stars as a guide for which places have been recommended by people.

You do need to be careful, though, because many unscrupulous used car dealers will simply write their own reviews in order to get a more prominent listing higher up in the search engines. However, whether its the best used Chevy or Dodge that you’re after in Temecula CA, by word of mouth reputations from friends and family or checking out some online reviews, you’ll hit upon the best used car dealers in that city pretty quickly and soon have yourself a bargain – especially in the current economic climate.

Driving with Flat Tires

November 24, 2011

While it is easy to look for cheap tires on sale over the internet most people are not sure about the consequences of driving with flat tires. Does driving with flat tires have any effect on your car and the tires themselves? According to auto mechanics driving with flat tires could cause damage to the tires and to the wheels themselves as there is a possibility that the wheels might be contacting the ground causing it damage. Driving with flat tires also causes more stress on the suspension as the tires that are properly fitted do tend to absorb a lot of vibration and shock. If you drive your car with flat tires all this vibration would then be absorbed by the suspension. However other than the tires and wheels and to some extent the suspension it is unlikely that driving with flat tires is going to cause any damage to the rest of the car.

Online Sites for Used Cars Purchases Are They Any Good?

November 11, 2011

A common question asked by users in Malaysia is whether there is any benefit of buying used cars online. When people go to second hand dealers enquiring about a certain model, they are generally quoted a high price. Moreover, when they tell them that they are getting a lower price on an online car sale and purchase site, they are warned that they may be duped. The actual situation is somewhat different. It would be interesting to know that those dealing directly with intermediaries have more chances of being duped into paying much more than required, as compared to shopping online for used cars.

In fact, when you are online, everything is spelt out for you in black and white. Therefore, the higher your negotiation skills, the better are the chances of acquiring the vehicle of choice within your price range, that too directly from the owner of the car. Therefore, if you look at it, then second hand dealers stand no chance against the online option out there for consumers!

November 8, 2011

The BHPH customer is entitled to their car loan by proving their income, ability to pay and providing a list of verifiable references that know them and where they live. Often the car lot does not even pull a credit report unlike tradtional dealers such as Wyoming Ford dealers. The car buyer is usually required to make their car payments every week to the dealer, in person and pay with cash. Initial Checks Before Buying a Car with Used Transmission

October 27, 2011

The initial and most crucial action to take is to ask the sales representative concerning the car’s history. Doing it can definitely save you both time and money. Should the car service and maintenance record reveals that the car was a rental vehicle or perhaps was in an accident, you have to think twice at this point. Furthermore, inquire if there were repair carried out in the car’s transmission.

If it’s a car with an automatic transmission and was already repaired or refurbished, avoid purchasing such type of car, a typical transmission slipping issue can easily occur on such condition. Not to say or implying that rebuilt transmissions are problematic in general, most of the time they work well. The issue here is that, not every car transmission repair shops can achieve equally high-quality work. And, while there is no certain way to confirm if the transmission was rebuilt or not, it’s better to avoid it.

Yet another thing to be worry about is, find out if that used car you are interested in purchasing wasn’t used as a towing vehicle. Typically, vehicles used in towing services like towing a trailer have high possibility for having a worn out transmission unit. Towing takes a lot stress to the transmission, specially if it was used in towing on a regular basis.
